How we advertise our fees.

In the past we have set our fees in U.S. dollars. However, because of the rapid changes in the exchange rate between the Canadian and U.S. dollars recently, we have decided to set our prices in Canadian dollars. If you are paying by credit card, once your transaction has been processed, the bill will be paid in Canadian funds and your credit card provider will charge you in American dollars at the current rate. Because credit card companies deal in large exchange volumes they charge low fees for exchanging money and we find their overall rates to be fair. If you are paying by cheque, debit, or cash, you will be charged the exchange rate as set by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) each Monday morning which will be the rate we will use for that week.

If you wish to get an idea of the cost of your trip in U.S. dollars, you can go to the Bank of Canada website. This site will give you the raw exchange rate for today. Of course it will be slightly different than our posted exchange rate because of additional bank fees and the fact that our rate is set by the CIBC each Monday morning and rates can change daily. If you wish the exact rate for the week please feel free to call Karen directly at 1-800-667-2311 or call your credit card company to see the rate they are offering.

This approach will ensure that you always get the correct exchange rate for your hard earned cash!
